beta survival of the fittest talent2010-03-30 00:00:00How do you get that tanks are losing 30 threat? The change to Blessing of Salv is so that paladins aren't required in aids any more; no class is supposed to be required in any size raid. Tanks are having a lot of extra threat "baked in" to bear form/defensive stance/I forget the paly ability.
Basically, the idea is that since defense rating is such a gimpy stat to a class that can't parry or block, Druids shouldn't need it. Also, it makes ...
Nurturing Instinct question2010-03-27 00:00:00Druid in question is only level 33 at the moment, and his gear is mostly instance blues and some quested greens. Since the plan is to keep leveling up, I haven't tried to get multiple sets just yet. I plan on doing so once I get to Outland, though.
So, at this point, my gear isn't very good (gold is in short supply given it's a new server for me) and I haven't even thought about getting different gear sets for soloing versus healing. - 80 feral/resto druid
Dethmite - 80 unholy death knight
Optamos - 70 warlock (retired)
Marroweater - 70 protection warrior (retired)
Mawler - 70 beastmaster hunter (retired)
+ too many other alts to mentionA...
Agility vs Attack Power2010-03-20 00:00:00yeah, ever since the patch, there is a reason to get AP gear. Generally, If you have two pieces of armor, say... Crusader's Chestpiece of Power or of Agility, it'll be +50 AP or +25 Agility. Before the patch, Agility was CLEARLY the way to go, since 1 agi=2 RAP, you got 50 RAP from it, as well as armor and crit bonuses. Now, it's 1 agi= 1 RAP, so you only get 25 RAP from 25 agility.
So it's really important to have a good balance between agility and AP gear. If you have all agility, you'll have a high crit rate, and armor as well as dodge rating, but no power behind it. If you have all AP gear, you'll hit hard, but hardly ever get critical, and you're kinda screwed if you have to get into melee range.
As for stamina, that's debatable. A lot of hunters will say that stamina is important for when your pet can't hold ...
picky eaters tip - how to stay sane2010-03-16 00:00:00Guys if you have a fruit eater and are level 63/4 plus, do the quest Oh, It's On! and get the reward. The frond thingy.
Craftable fruit stack of 10 every 12 hours... You shouln't run out of food again, unless your pet just dies a lot. This food works up to level 70 for fruit eaters. It's very handy and I'd definately recomment picking up the quest from those Sporeggar guys in (70 dwarf hunter) Durotan
Sopia (70 draenei shaman) Durotan I only kn...
Questions on Usefulness2010-03-09 00:00:00So, it's late and I've got nothing to do at the moment. Decided to ask a few questions that are actually hunter related. I have read the stickies (most of it anyway...it's quite long-winded) but with the information having last been updated more than a year ago, I just feel it's necessary for me to ask around.
Here goes. For a while now, I've been running around with this build. I find it useful while on my own and it gives me a fairly useful off-tank in case something goes wrong with the CC in 5-mans (like someone breaks a trap or sheep). Is this a viable build? it's served me well thus-far but, I really w...
Dear God I Can't Decide On A Spec2010-03-05 00:00:00So yea, that's about it. I can't decide on a spec. I have tried numerous combinations and I am just not happy. Fifty gold per re-spec too, I've spent over 500 gold of my mount money now this week. So far I've tried:
41/20/0
Full BM, with some nice talents from MM. The cookie-cutter raid spec as I have read and have been told, but eh, idk, something was missing.
6/52/3
I liked this one for a little while, lot of neat MM talents for crowd control like scattershot, imp. concussive shot, and silencing shot for mages. However that 41 point talent just didn't impress me and at the time I thought having the Trueshot Aura would be redundant when I do my 2v2 arena matches with another hunter who is m...
Survival! yes!2010-03-05 00:00:00wildsimian wrote:I know a lot of guilds may want people to spec differently at different times, but since this isn't just a respec (gems, enchants needed to be changed around) do you think it's acceptable of me to ask my Class Leader for this role specifically? I am an active raider in the guild. You've asked a question of the forum which can only be answered in the context of your Guild. So, communicate. Tell your guild leader and/or Hunter class leader of the dedication you have put into being a SV spec Hunter, and that you'd appreciate that this dedication be taken into consideration when raid spots are being filled. After that, it should just be a matter of filling the r...

Do I need ranged talents for Vashj2010-03-02 00:00:00At the starts its very helpful to knock down a few bats, but you have to stop after a bit because you cant keep up anyway and you're better off killing Vashj.- God Emperor of Hunters and Priest Forum Mean Person.
Duchess xNocturnalSunx wrote:and then we'd probably eventually wind up making a video about sticking talent points up your butt because that's what Aethien said.teacake wrote:If any of you would stand still, ever, I'd so be...
0/31/302010-03-01 00:00:00I've seen it before. I can see how some naive hunters would think it's a cool spec. You get TSA and Lightning Reflexes! (/sarcasm) It really just doesn't work.
You don't have enough agility for Combat Experience or Lightning Reflexes to make any kind of huge increase. Without any talents, you have 541 agility, correct? You're spending 7 talent points to increase your agility by 91! It's not worth it.
You could have spent 3 point on careful aim to increase your attack power by 116. Another 2 points to increase your ranged DPS by another 3. If you went into full Marks, you'd get a total of about 2400 AP and 31 crit instead of 1985 AP and 34 crit.
...But that's assuming t...
